You remind me of myself

A thought cursed through my mind discreetly
I grabbed my pen, some paper too.
I wrote it down and I looked up and to my great surprise
I saw myself when I saw you.

I’m glad that you’re a dreamer
And you’ve got a heart inside your chest.
It seems like everyone I’ve met
Since I came to this town
Is an echo of someone that I left.

You remind me so much of myself.

I’m so tired I think I’ll sleep
Tired of being lonely, being dry.
Dry of inspiration, like this shallow dried-up town.
Tired of never finding reasons why
(People thinking they can’t die)
I think that we could teach each other something.

I think you might be surprised
So I’d like to sit you down and listen
Til my ears don’t work.

Or maybe just get lost in your eyes.
