Surprise Jam At Callahan’s

Here is Bill Bell’s review of the Surprise Jam that happened this week, in Auburn Hills. It was organized to celebrate the release of the new album BRAIN !

“A Jerad and two Bens graced the stage at Callahan’s last night and really played some great music.
The crowd was relatively small, making the evening intimate and, well, (to use a term from the old days) kinda “groovy”. No pushing towards the stage, no iPhones held high over heads to get a shot….People sat, listened, enjoyed and applauded.
A few folks from the audience were invited to shake tambourine and Callahan’s Sound-Guy extraordinaire, Peter Jay even hopped on stage to hold down the bass thumps on a few tunes.
Scott Coslett, music mixer for 100 Monkeys (look for his name on Spencer’s BRAIN album as the man who mastered that album as well as Live and Wasted for us), helped out with some percussion contributions.
The guys even chipped in with a few of Spencer’s songs including a rendition of Violin that deserves to be considered as a track on the 100 Monkeys next album (I could be biased).
All in all, a really fun, laid-back evening with and for everyone who dropped by.”
